The Committee, players and members of St Malachy’s GAC deeply regret the death of Margaret McLernon and extend our sympathies to the entire family circle, may she rest in peace. Lotto numbers drawn on January 9th were 1, 7, 11 and 13. There was no jackpot winner so £25 goes to Anne O’Kane and Margaret Cushley. The Lotto is the club’s financial lifeline and you can support your club by buying tickets from any Committee member. The Jackpot now stands at £3,700.

The Executive Committee has ratified the following football management teams for the 2012 season; Senior Team – Paddy Campbell, Seamus Campbell and Seamus Keenan, Reserve Team - Seamus Shivers and Philip Bradley, Gym Co-ordinator - Dominic Heaney. Coaches for underage teams; Minors – Mark Chesney, U16s Gerry McElwee, U12s –Noel McKenna, U10s – Michael O Kane and Dana McPeake, U8s – Philip Bradley and Cathal O Kane, U6s – Kieran McGuckin and Martin Kearney, Girls Football - Catherine McOscar, Paddy McIvor and Gerry McElwee. Youth Officer - Michael Gribbin, Assistant Youth Officer - Gerry McElwee and Child Protection Officer - Catherine McOscar. A Coach has yet to be appointed for the U14s, if interested please contact any Committee member.
Underage camogie managers and coaches will be elected at the next committee meeting in the clubrooms on Tuesday 10th January 2012 at 6:45pm if you would like to be considered for coaching/managing any of the camogie teams for the 2012 season, please contact camogie youth secretary Maura McAuley. The Executive Committee thanks all the coaches, sponsors, parents and anyone else who helped out with camogie, hurling and football in 2011 for their hard work and dedication and wishes our teams every success this year.
Membership fees for 2012 are now due. Please contact Club Registrar Paddy McIvor or any Committee member. The Committee wishes to stress that the "No pay, no train/play" rule will be enforced strictly for all codes this year as those who have not paid are not insured. One fee and registration covers membership to the Club including participation in camogie, hurling and football. Fees are as follows; Primary School Children £5, Secondary School £10 and Adult Members £20. A registration day will be held on Saturday January 21st at 1.30 – 2.30pm (after music classes). Membership is open to everyone in the community and parents and non playing adult members are also encouraged to register as Club Members for 2012.
If you go down to the club today you’re in for a big surprise! While there have been few activities on the pitch recently, the Development Committee have been hard at work and the result is a new floor and general improvements in the hall. Well done to all for your hard work – it looks a picture.
The Derry Senior Scor will be held in Mid February. Could you represent St Malachy's in Senior Scor 2012? Can you sing, dance, act, play an instrument or answer a few quiz questions? If so contact Paul Gribbin (079212532930) or Jimmy Mulholland (07968318071) as soon as possible.
Last Man Standing: The £300 is split evenly between the final two players Siobhan Martin and Raymond Kelly. Well done to Siobhan and Raymond. Many thanks to all who helped administer Last Man Standing over the last 12 weeks. Following the tremendous success and popularity of this competition a new bigger and better Last One Standing completion is being organised, more details next week…make sure you don’t miss out this time around!! The 2012 Sports Prediction Competition sheets must be returned to Katie Pickering by January 14th.

St Malachy's has launched the. The 2 day cycling event on May 5th and 6th will raise funds for local charities and the Club. Group cycling in preparation for the Tour of Doire 2012 is now happening every Sunday. Meet at club 8:45am.The new Hoodie and Polo shirts are available from Sportsworld.
